Drones are lovely up here.
We are shifting our focus to a new, growing specific market: Drones. UAVs, UASs and the like. We have a fantastic opportunity to address many of the issues in the drone industry: knowledge of products and services sourced around the world. Not only will you see major players like DJI, but you’ll also see the professionals who can fly them for your organization and understand the rules around how, where and when to fly the drones.
I’d like to thank all of the users and fans of Sidekick for their willingness to try a new experience. It has been a tremendous joy to know there are kindred spirits out around the world. Our experiment of providing a categorized view of the software industry has been a struggle. The effort and cost required to capture new users didn’t seem to result in new logins. In this test of market acceptance we have learned many things and certainly made a few mistakes. Ultimately we learned the problem we were trying to solve wasn’t a big-enough problem. Ok, the market has spoken.
As every startup knows, when things go awry you pivot. Zig when they zag. That’s what we have to do.
You’ll notice over the next few weeks a shift: new categories will show up, new companies added, and yes, advertising will appear. After all, we have to pay for operating such a cool site and we will continue to offer it free for anyone looking for information about drones and drone services.
Thanks for your support and I hope you’ll stay with us on this new path.
